Welcome to Chesed Ranch
Chesed Ranch is a small family homestead in North Florida built around the pursuit of self-sufficiency. Through livestock stewardship, organic gardening, orchard development, and a healthy dose of experimentation, we continue learning and growing every day. From our American Aberdeen herd to chickens, horses, a donkey, and the occasional batch of feeder pigs, to growing peaches, citrus, avocados, and more, this site serves as a living record of our journey and the lessons learned along the way.
Pronounced “KHEH-sed” (Hebrew: חֶסֶד)
Chesed is a Hebrew word often translated as loving-kindness, mercy, steadfast love, grace, and covenant faithfulness.
The name reflects the values upon which our ranch is being built: stewardship, service, husbandry, generosity, and care for both the land and the animals entrusted to us.
Who we are
From Raw Land to Ranch
The story of Chesed Ranch is still being written.
What was once timberland and overgrown brush has gradually become pastures, fruit orchards, organic gardening, livestock facilities, ponds, fencing, and a home. The transformation has required years of planning, hard work, and a commitment to improving the land for future generations.

Livestock & Animal Husbandry
Animal husbandry is at the heart of what we do.
From our American Aberdeen cattle program to horses, poultry, and livestock guardian dogs, our focus is on healthy animals, sound management practices, and responsible stewardship.
We believe good livestock management begins with understanding the needs of the animals and creating an environment where they can thrive.
Building the Orchard
The orchard is one of the relatively newest chapters of the ranch.
Citrus, peaches, avocados, berries, and other fruit crops are being established with a focus on varieties suited to North Florida conditions. As the orchard matures, it will become an important part of both the ranch ecosystem and our long-term vision.
